LCD Soundsystem

It is no secret that LCD Soundsystem will be calling it quits after their Madison Square Garden performance on April 2nd. I have to admit that I have not been this excited for a band to perform since I attended a small, intimate concert down in southern Florida. It is safe to say that LCD Soundsystem was a touring machine during 2010 and they were putting some of the best shows around. I was able to see them three times last year and their concerts topped my list of favorites.

It only seems that the final LCD Soundsystem performance has been surrounded with more hype than the band could ever imagine. When the tickets sold out in under five minutes, provoking angry messages from diehard fans, the band took to the internet to defend themselves stating that it was a situation out of their control. Thankfully the band rereleased tickets this past Monday in hopes of getting more fans through the door for their last hurrah. An amazing band may be calling it quits but they booked the biggest room in town for all of us to get together and have one final party. The band even arranged a way for people who cannot attend to stream the show. So if you cannot make the LCD Soundsystem concert on April 2nd, you can still enjoy the music from the comfort of your own home. It may be the end of an era in music but the band is doing everything they can for their fans to enjoy.

  1. I'm watching the concert on youtube. Seems like it would have been an incredible experience. I hope you can give some type of re-cap.
